St. Johns County uses the name in its own releases, and its South Ponte Vedra Park sits on the oceanfront here. Along this stretch A1A carries South Ponte Vedra Boulevard addresses. It is unincorporated: St. Johns County runs services, from the Sheriff’s Office to trash pickup.

Where it is

This guide covers the part of ZIP code 32082 south of the Census Bureau’s Sawgrass and Palm Valley areas: the Mickler Road and Palm Valley Road corner, then the narrow strip between the Atlantic and the Guana River, south to where the ZIP code ends near Vilano Beach. It is about 14,900 acres, but most of that is public conservation land. The county’s park layer lists the Guana River Wildlife Management Area at about 9,650 acres and the GTM Research Reserve’s Guana River lands at about 2,870 acres.

Homes line the ocean side of the road. St. Johns County’s address records list about 1,180 residential addresses, roughly 1,060 houses and 120 condos. The busiest streets for addresses are South Ponte Vedra Boulevard, Sea Hammock Way and Neck Road.

About two-thirds of the area is in the county’s North Coastal Overlay District, Part 3.09 of the Land Development Code. The oceanfront strip by Mickler’s Landing is part of the Ponte Vedra Zoning District. The county’s 2025 millage sheet also lists a South Ponte Vedra Boulevard dune and beach restoration taxing unit at 2 mills; see our property taxes guide.

On Oct. 7 the county presented a preliminary beach trolley concept that could serve South Ponte Vedra Beach and Vilano Beach; no decision on stops or on whether to pursue it has been made, the county said.
