Ponte Vedra High, Landrum Middle, Ocean Palms and PVPV-Rawlings are all Florida Schools of Excellence for 2025-26, among 27 in St. Johns County.
Every public school zoned for most of Ponte Vedra Beach is a Florida School of Excellence for 2025-26. The four are:
- Ponte Vedra High
- Alice B. Landrum Middle
- Ocean Palms Elementary
- PVPV-Rawlings Elementary
They are among 27 St. Johns County schools on the Florida Department of Education’s list, the St. Johns County School District said Monday in its announcement of the designations.
The district itself is one of 18 in Florida named an Academically High-Performing School District for 2025-26, the announcement said.
What the designation means
A School of Excellence ranks in the top 20% of Florida schools serving similar grades for at least two of the past three school years, according to the district. A school can keep the designation for up to three years if it continues to meet the state’s requirements.
It is a separate measure from the state’s A to F school grades. All four Ponte Vedra Beach schools also earned an A in Florida’s 2026 school grades, the state’s school grades file shows.
| School | Grades | 2026 state grade | Share of possible points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ponte Vedra High | 9-12 | A | 79% |
| Alice B. Landrum Middle | 6-8 | A | 81% |
| Ocean Palms Elementary | Pre-K-5 | A | 81% |
| PVPV-Rawlings Elementary | K-5 | A | 79% |
“We are proud of our schools and the hard work behind these recognitions,” Superintendent Brennan Asplen said in the announcement. “Our students and staff earn this success every day, with support from families and our community.”
The south end of Ponte Vedra Boulevard
About 600 Ponte Vedra Beach addresses, at the south end of Ponte Vedra Boulevard, are zoned for St. Augustine schools instead, according to our check of the district’s 2026-27 zone map. Their elementary school, Ketterlinus Elementary, is on the list. Sebastian Middle and St. Augustine High are not.

What it means for you
- Not sure which school your address is zoned for? Zones do not follow ZIP codes. Our Ponte Vedra Beach public schools page links the district’s 2026-27 attendance zone locator and lists every zoned school with its grade and enrollment.
- Buying or renting here? The designation covers the 2025-26 school year. Confirm the zone for a specific address with the district at 904-547-7500 before you sign, since zones can change from year to year.
