Florida law, section 791.08, allows fireworks to be used on three designated holidays: New Year’s Day, Independence Day and New Year’s Eve. It also says:
- A homeowners association board may not make rules that take away that holiday right.
- A ban written into a community’s recorded covenants still applies.
- The section does not override local government fireworks rules.
The county prohibits open burning during burn bans; check St. Johns County news if conditions are dry.
