Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28. Good Friday is March 26. Ponte Vedra Beach is unincorporated, so its public egg hunts come from St. Johns County Parks and Recreation, churches and neighborhood groups. None had announced 2027 dates as of Oct. 10.

Egg hunts

St. Johns County Parks and Recreation holds free annual Easter egg hunts for children 8 and younger. In 2026 they were:

  • Thursday, April 2, 2026: Palencia Park, 405 Palencia Village Drive, St. Augustine, and Veterans Park, 1332 Veterans Parkway, St. Johns
  • Saturday, April 4, 2026: Treaty Park, 1595 Wildwood Drive, St. Augustine, and Al Wilke Park, Hastings

The Easter Bunny posed for photos from 10 to 11 a.m., and the hunts began right after, the county’s event page says. For 2027 dates, call 904-209-0333. None of the 2026 county hunts was in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Services

  • First Baptist Church of Jacksonville at Nocatee, 1770 Valley Ridge Blvd.: Easter Sunday services were at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. in 2026, according to the church’s Nocatee Easter page.
  • Crosswater Community Church, 211 Davis Park Road, Ponte Vedra: Sunday service is at 10 a.m., its website says; Easter plans are not posted yet.

Brunch

No Ponte Vedra Beach restaurant had published an Easter 2027 brunch as of Oct. 10. We add them here from each restaurant’s own website as they are announced; meanwhile, see our brunch guide for places that serve brunch every weekend.

Outdoors

The GTM Research Reserve’s trails and beach lots are open 8 a.m. to sunset every day, $3 a vehicle. The visitor center is closed Sundays, and Guana Outpost South, which rents kayaks, paddleboards and bikes at the Guana Dam, is closed on Easter, the reserve’s visit page says. County beach parks are open dawn to dusk; see spring break for the beach rules.

What is open and closed

  • Libraries: closed Good Friday, March 26, and Easter Sunday, March 28; reopen Monday, March 29.
  • Schools: St. Johns County students are off Friday, March 26, the week after spring break.
  • Trash: Easter is not on the county’s list of no-collection holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day), per its garbage collection page.
